Once, when I was in college, I got sick. My roommate went home for the weekend and brought back something to help me feel better. Oh no! She was right! She knew I loved shellfish. She also knew I couldn't resist seafood mac and cheese. That weekend, what she gave me changed my life forever!

Seafood mac and cheese can be a main dish or a side. It's fancy for special occasions but easy for casual gatherings.

Delicious Seafood Mac and Cheese Recipe: A Mouthwatering Dish for Any Occasion

Here's what you need:

  • 2 cups of dry macaroni
  • 6 oz. claw crab meat
  • 8 oz. shrimp, peeled and cleaned
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 spring onion
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 8 oz. block sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz. block mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

How to make seafood mac and cheese:

Preheat your oven to 350°.
Clean the shrimp if necessary.
Cook the macaroni as directed on the package. Drain it well.
Put the drained macaroni in a big bowl.
Mix in the sour cream until all the noodles are coated.
Add the crab meat and mix.
Chop the green onion finely and set it aside.
Grate the white cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese separately and set them aside.
Melt the butter in a pan.
Cook the shrimp in the pan until they're light pink. Take them out and chop them when they're cool. Add them to the macaroni mix.
Sauté the chopped onions in the pan until they're soft.
Sprinkle flour over the onions and mix well. Let it cook for about a minute.
Slowly pour in the milk while stirring until it thickens.
Gradually add the grated cheddar cheese while stirring until melted.
Pour the cheese mixture over the macaroni and seafood. Mix well.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Put the mixture into a buttered baking dish.
Sprinkle the top with grated mozzarella cheese.
Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the mozzarella cheese.
Lightly sprinkle paprika for color.
Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes, until the top is lightly browned.
Serve it warm and enjoy!
