Delicious BLT Sandwich with Special Sauce

This sandwich is always a tasty treat. It's made with bacon, lettuce, and tomato, along with my special sauce. The special sauce is made from tomato powder and lemon pepper, giving it a tangy flavor that enhances the tomatoes and salty bacon.

Preparing the Bacon

I usually cook my bacon in the oven, but this time I fried it in a skillet to try out a new pan. Whatever method you choose, make sure the bacon is nice and crispy. Cook it to your liking.

Seasoning Tips

I give measurements for the seasonings, but remember to taste as you go and adjust according to your preference. I particularly like adding lemon pepper to this recipe for extra flavor. It adds a tangy taste that elevates the sandwich, especially with fresh garden tomatoes. Make sure to note down the measurements of your special sauce for next time to make your sandwich extra special.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of thick-cut bacon
  • 8 Butter Lettuce Leaves
  • 3 Roma Tomatoes

Special Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon of tomato powder or 2 teaspoons of ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons of white wine vinegar
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons of lemon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons (or to taste) of dried chive
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Teeny tiny pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Pinch of celery seed (optional)

Instructions:

Cook the bacon until crispy either in a skillet or in the oven.
Drain the bacon on paper towels.
Wash and dry the lettuce. Slice the tomatoes into 1/4 inch slices.
Mix all the ingredients for the special sauce in a bowl.
Assemble the sandwiches by toasting the bread, spreading the special sauce on both sides, adding tomatoes to one side and lettuce to the other, and placing the bacon in the middle.
Slice the sandwich diagonally before serving. Enjoy!
