Delicious Strawberry Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

Okay, so I've always loved cake since I was a little girl. My mom made some of the best cakes. Strawberry Texas Sheet Cake is really good. It's full of yummy strawberry flavor. The cake uses strawberry cake mix and strawberry pie filling. The icing has mashed strawberries, which makes it even better.

I made this cake in October for John when he was in rehab after a stroke. I sent treats to the Day Neuro staff every week. They loved this cake a lot. It's moist and delicious, especially with the icing. Adding strawberries makes it even better.

This dessert is great for serving a lot of people because it makes 48 servings. It's perfect for holidays or when you have guests over. Give it a try and you'll love it.

 Delicious Strawberry Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

Cake:

• 15.25 oz. box strawberry cake mix
• 22 oz. can strawberry pie filling
• 4 large eggs

Icing:

• 8 oz. package cream cheese (softened)
• 1 tablespoon real vanilla extract
• 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
• 4 cups powdered sugar
• 1 cup strawberries (washed and sliced)

Instructions:

Cake:

Mix cake mix and eggs in a large bowl.

Add pie filling and mix.

Spread the mixture in a greased 11x17” pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let it cool before adding icing.

Icing:

Beat cream cheese, vanilla, and butter in a bowl.

Add powdered sugar gradually, beating after each addition until smooth.

Mash strawberries to make ½ cup without juice.

Cook berries in a pan until thick like a puree, then cool in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.

Add strawberry mixture to icing and mix well.

Spread icing over the cooled cake and refrigerate before serving.

Notes:

• Refrigerate the cake for 6-8 hours or overnight before cutting.
• Cook the strawberries before adding them to the icing to avoid spoiling.
